Buying for a horse-mad child and not sure where to start? This guide sorts our handmade kits and accessories by age and by budget, with live prices. Everything is made in France, needs no sewing or scissors, and every DIY kit includes a printed instruction sheet and a free video tutorial on our YouTube channel.

First, one question: which model horse does she have?

Model horse accessories are scale-specific — a saddle pad made for a Schleich horse won't fit a Breyer Traditional. One look at the toy box tells you everything:

  • Schleich or CollectA (the classic toy-store figurines) → scale 1:20
  • Breyer Classic or CollectA Deluxe → scale 1:12 — everything in 1:12
  • Breyer Traditional (the large collector models) → scale 1:9
